The Murphy Reservoir Replacement project consist of construction of a 2.31 Million Gallon (MG) prestressed concrete reservoir including exterior stairway, interior ladder, access hatches, vent, overflow pipe, drain line inlet, outlet line, sample taps, and miscellaneous appurtenances; demolition and removal of the existing two 0.5 MG concrete reservoirs; grading of the site; shotcrete wall; concrete masonry block retaining wall; installation and removal of two HDPE 10,000 gallon temporary water storage tanks (City Purchased); temporary 12" HDPE piping and fittings; approximately 750' of 16" DIP inlet/outlet line; approximately 126' of 12" inlet line; approximately 75' of 12" drain/overflow line; approximately 165' of 8" drain/overflow line approximately 1,175' of concrete curb and gutter and concrete swale; approximately 20,750 SF of AC Pavement, approximately 23,100 SF of aggregate base; connections to existing line, miscellaneous appurtenances including valve vault, check valves, flex tend flexible joint; underground conduits for power and SCADA; connection of the new electrical and SCADA to the Murphy Pump Station; level controls for the reservoir; miscellaneous lights and controls; and miscellaneous site work. All work shall be completed in accordance with the project plans as specified hereinafter, project specifications as specified hereinafter for the Whittier Utility Authority, Los Angeles County, State of California, and in accordance with the Standard Specifications for Public Works Construction (The Greenbook), 2018 Edition. All material that comes into contact with potable water shall be NSF 61 compliant.
