As of November 16, 2022, construction is complete. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: The Project consists of the demolition and reconstruction of three existing pedestrian ocean access walkovers in the Whalehead Subdivision in Corolla, North Carolina as identified below: Approximately 264 linear feet of wooden and concrete elevated walkway extending from Old Coral Street and Lighthouse Drive rights-of-way to the Corolla oceanfront. Approximately 263 linear feet of wooden and concrete elevated walkway extending from Old Mackerel Street and Lighthouse Drive rights-of-way to the Corolla oceanfront. Approximately 217 linear feet of wooden and concrete elevated walkway extending from Dolphin Street and Lighthouse Drive rights-of-way to the Corolla oceanfront. Each bid shall be accompanied by a cash deposit, or a certified check drawn on a bank or trust company authorized to do business in North Carolina, payable to the County of Currituck, in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total amount of the bid, as a guarantee that a contract will be entered into. The Successful Bidder shall be required to furnish a performance bond and a payment bond for one hundred percent (100%) of the contract amount. Small Business Entities, Women Owned Businesses and Minority Owned Businesses are encouraged to submit bids. Concerns and or questions should be related in writing to Crystal Owens, Contract Purchasing Agent at to Crystal.Owens@CurrituckCountyNC.gov no later than 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 22, 2021. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities, as it may deem to be in its best interest.
