Site work and renovation of a pre-engineered storage facility in New Castle, Delaware. Completed plans call for the renovation of a pre-engineered storage facility.
The project generally consists of, but is not limited to, the furnishing of all labor and materials for the rehabilitation of the fuel island canopy, the rehabilitation of the salt storage building, and for other incidental construction in accordance with the notes, and details shown on the plans and as directed by the Engineer. Project Description: The work will be constructed under a single prime contract. The scope of the project generally includes, but is not limited to, concrete demolition and patching and miscellaneous repairs and painting at the Delaware River and Bay Authority's (the "Authority" or "DRBA"), Delaware Memorial Bridge Complex ("DMB Complex"), Salt Storage Building and Fuel Canopy. The adjacent buildings will be occupied by the Authority while the construction work is occurring. The Contractor will be required to complete all work while ensuring normal, non-interrupted Authority business operations. The work associated with this contract shall include, but not be limited to the following: 1. Project Management: The Contractor shall coordinate all aspects of the construction process including but not limited to subcontractor coordination, construction phasing and critical path scheduling. 2. DMB Complex, Fuel Island Canopy: Refurbishment: Removal of existing MEP items, cleaning, preparation, priming, and repainting of the existing steel framing and metal roof decking (1,848 sf). Installation of new sealant and reinstallation of MEP items. This estimate is to be used as a reference only and is not meant to be used for bidding purposes. It is only mentioned here to provide potential contractors with a general idea of the size of project being advertised. 3. DMB Complex, Salt Storage Building: Concrete Demolition and Patching: Demolition of deteriorated concrete areas using power tools and other methods appropriate to the area and volume of material being removed. Concrete repairs using hand applied mortars, formed and placed concrete, crack injection, joint repairs, and other concrete repairs as necessary. Also included shall be masonry crack repairs, masonry repointing, masonry patching, and other masonry repairs. Repaired surfaces shall be coated with a new finish. Miscellaneous steel cleaning and paint shall be required. Quantities are noted on plans. B. Project Phasing: The phasing of the project will be the responsibility of the General Contractor, with the means and methods of construction determined by the General Contractor, while ensuring that the warranties for the systems are not affected in any manner by the Contractor selected means and methods. C. Project Scheduling: A project schedule developed by the General Contractor (in accordance with specification section 013100 - Project Management and Coordination) shall be provided to the satisfaction of the Designer.
