Remodeling of a parking garage in Washington, District of Columbia. Completed plans call for the remodel of a parking garage.
The subgrade concrete parking garage at the JEH is experiencing advanced delamination, spalling, and exposed rebar in several areas of the parking decks and ramps. Areas are deteriorated to a point where vehicles cannot park due to structural integrity concerns. GSA has conducted minor repairs and alterations to undertake necessary interim repairs at locations where the concrete slabs exhibited the most advanced deterioration. Removal or relocation of electrical and low voltage communication lines, water, air and fuel lines, and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment may be needed. Removal of spalling concrete, deteriorated/unusable rebar replacement is necessary as needed. The parking garage will remain in service throughout the project. Estimated cost range $1,000,000 -$5,000,000 * The project is design-build type delivery * The objective of the project is to perform emergency structural repairs of the sub grade concrete parking slabs, columns, beams and walls. * The project period of performance is 390 calendar days. This is comprised of 150 calendar days of Design Stage work, 210 calendar days of Construction Stage Work, and 30 calendar days of Project Closeout activities. * The project has a current estimated Contract Award of September 2020. * Construction Start is estimated to begin May 2021. * All construction project work will occur outside of normal business work hours 6:00am-6:00pm. The inspector’s position will be required to work part time and/or full time (hours will vary) during non-business hours (6:00pm - 6:00am) onsite during all construction activities. The Project Manager can work during normal business hours. The project is not a change in use of space. The project is not a change in occupancy
