IFB Channel Flume Construction. Price(s) bid must be include any costs necessary to complete this task, including but not limited to: Labor, Machinery, Fuel, Hardware, Supplies. This project proposes to relocate the existing diesel engine driving the pump from an underground pit to a location more easily accessible above the pump. Structural steel framing will be used to reinforce the walls of the pit and provide a mounting location for the diesel engine. The engine will be mounted in a manner similar to the existing conditions in order to allow for similar operating dynamics. The skid on which the engine and pump are currently mounted will be secured to the pit foundation. Additional framing is proposed to allow the pit to be covered by steel grating creating a working platform over the pit. The existing ladder accessing the pit will remain, and hatch covering the ladder opening is included in this scope. The steel framing extends above pit walls, and a single slope metal roof is included in the project scope. The pumphouse Supplies water from the pond to the SEC lab testing channel/flume. The flume is used to test channel liner products for erosion control performance and product approval. The pump is at the present time located in a subgrade concrete pit west of the rainfall simulator building 7030 on the RELLIS campus.
