The work for which bids are to be received consists of: Upgrade and modernization of the existing duplex lift station and electrical components. The project will consist of wet well rehabilitation with new lid, pumps, 6" discharge piping, rails, and floats; the removal and replacement of the existing valve vault; installation of a bypass manhole with quick connect, a new air release valve and manhole, the replacement of approximately 33 LF of 6" PVC force main; tree removal, concrete pavement restoration; electrical coordination; new controls; and demolition of the lift station, valve vault, and controls. Work shall also include all supervision, equipment, materials and labor, temporary erosion control, clearing and grubbing, traffic control, bypass pumping, testing, granular backfill, flowable fill, pavement restoration final grading and seeding and all appurtenances necessary to complete the work shown in the drawings and specifications. All work must be ready for satisfactory and continuous operation, in accordance with the Drawings and Specifications. Each Bid must be accompanied by Bid security made payable to the Owner in an amount of five percent (5%) of the Bidder's maximum Bid price and in the form of a certified check or an acceptable Bid Bond. When requested in writing by the Owner, the Contractor shall submit within seven (7) days of the date of the written request, a letter or statement from his surety company that it will execute and deliver a 100% Performance Bond and a 100% Payment Bond. The Work will be substantially completed within 120 calendar days from the date when the Contract Time commences to run as provided in Paragraph 2.03 of the General Conditions EJCDC C-700 (C) 2007, and completed and ready for final payment in accordance with Paragraph 14.07 of the General Conditions within 180 calendar days from the date when the Contract Time commences to run. The Evansville Water and Sewer Utility further reserves the right to waive informalities, and to award the contract to the lowest and most responsible bidder (or bidders), all to the advantage of the Evansville Water and Sewer Utility, or to reject all Proposals.
