This project is included in Suffolk County fiscal years 2023-2025 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). As of June 7, 2023, further details regarding design and construction have not been identified. This project provides funding for improvements and additions to the Traffic and Parking Violations Agency (TPVA) facilities in both the public and secured areas. Improvements to the Traffic Court include: 1. Entranceway at HLD Building, Hauppauge--Placing a canopy over the front walkway - design is complete and construction is set to begin. 2. Security Enhancements for Building / Parking Lot - Video cameras and additional lighting are needed in north side lot areas due to confrontational concerns and occurrences of employees being approached / followed in the parking lot by motorists. Audio recording systems are needed in conference rooms / prosecutor areas to safeguard / protect employees and County interests. New electronic locks and software for access cards & card printers needed. 3. Renovate / refurbish high traffic agency areas such as installation of public video conferencing equipment and creation of multiple self-service kiosk areas for motorists. 4. Expand /Reconfigure TPVA offices in HLD - to accommodate an additional court area for collections and virtual conferencing space for public assembly / service. This additional space will house a "Payment Plan" unit and "Discovery" unit to comply with newly enacted law requiring payment plans. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
