Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a bridge / tunnel in Lakeland, Florida. Working plans call for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel; for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.

The project location within the Green Swamp Wildlife Management Area on the east side of Highway 471, approximately seven miles north of the US 98/Highway 471 intersection in Sumter County, Florida. The time period from the Notice to Proceed (NTP) to Substantial Completion shall be no more than 90 calendar days. Final completion shall be no more than 120 calendar days from Notice to Proceed. The District is soliciting bids from responsive and responsible bidders to furnish and deliver, if and when ordered, to the District, all required work, services and materials necessary to demolish the existing bridge and construct a new bridge per this RFB, including the drawings and technical specifications. The terms and conditions of this RFB are incorporated into the resulting contractual relationship between the Contractor and the District. The Devil's Creek Timber Bridge Replacement Project scope of work includes Contractor providing all necessary labor, equipment, materials, and incidentals to demolish the existing bridge, removing all materials from the existing 80-foot timber and steel railroad decking bridge structure and disposing of said materials off site in a legal manner; provided, however, Contractor shall salvage and re use certain materials from the current bridge as shown on the plans for the new bridge. It is essential that the Contractor can meet the District's demand within the time schedule provided for the Project. The Contractor must be able to provide sufficient equipment and personnel to meet District deadlines Per owner all bids were rejected, and this will re-bid at a future time and date TBD.
