The District Board of Trustees of Valencia College is accepting bids from Valencia's Annual Pre-qualified pool of General Contractors. ONLY PRE - QUALIFIED CONTRACTORS with a single project certification over $200,000 are eligible to bid. The project scope will consist of modifying and/or demolition of the existing catwalk system in Building 2 (Performing Arts Center) of the Valencia College East Campus. The primary modification is the addition of a catwalk platform level to alleviate the need to reach off the existing catwalk to add counterweights to the stage rigging system. Catwalk will include new metal grating and guard rails at two areas of the existing catwalk platform. New spiral staircase to access new catwalk/platform with a new foundation support, lateral bracing. Demo of the existing high catwalk (potentially re-using the steel). Additionally, ductwork will be relocated during this project Valencia College requires that all contractors include their bid breakdown with the Total Price submission. Valencia College will be responsible for the permitting cost which will be handled by PDCS. Expected Construction Start Date - February 2021. The College also reserves the right to reject the Reply of any Supplier/Contractor who has previously failed in the proper performance of an award or to deliver on time contracts, or who, in the College's opinion, is not in a position to perform properly under this award.
