Site work, paving and new construction of a civil project in Williamsburg, Virginia. Completed plans call for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; for site work for a bridge / tunnel; for paving for a bridge / tunnel; road / highway; and road / highway.

The Work under this Project consists of construction of two (2) turnarounds and demolition of existing roadway to implement permanent road and bridge closure over Jolly Pond. All supervision, labor, materials, equipment, tools, and other appurtenances and/or incidentals required and any other work required as specified in the Contract Documents, shown on the Drawings, or otherwise required to complete the work of this contract in accordance with the Contract Plan/Drawings and Specifications. Bid Security in the amount of Five percent (5%) of the Bid shall be submitted with each Bid. Performance and Payment bonds for one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract will be required by the Owner prior to Contract Award. The cost of bonds is to be included with the bid price. A VDOT Land Use Permit will be required, permit fee will be $135, and the surety will be $25,800. A JCC Land Disturbing Permit is also required. All questions pertaining to this project should be directed to Caprice White, Senior Purchasing Specialist no later than 12:00 P.M., on December 30, 2020 in writing by e-mail: caprice.white@jamescitycountyva.gov. Addendum will be issued by James City County Purchasing. Liquidated Damages in the amount of $500.00 per day will be assessed for failure to meet the schedule for Substantial Completion or Full Completion. The Owner reserves the right to waive minor non-substantive informalities in the Bid, to reject any/or all Bids, to award any Bid in whole or in part and award the Bid considered to be in the best interest of the Owner. The Owner also reserves the right to negotiate with the lowest responsive, responsible Bidder should Bid exceed available funds. Any interpretation made will be in the form of an addendum to the Contract Documents, which will be forwarded to all known Bidders, and its receipt shall be acknowledged on the Bid form. All questions pertaining to this project should be directed to Caprice White, Senior Purchasing Specialist no later than 12:00 P.M., on December 30, 2020 in writing by e-mail: caprice.white@jamescitycountyva.gov. Addendum will be issued by James City County Purchasing.
