Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Streator, Illinois. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.

As of February 17 2021, project will be awarded tonight to Universal Asphalt and Excavating at $338,078.91 with a start date of March 15. Bids are invited upon the several items and quantities of work as follows: Construction of approximately 959 LF of storm sewer (10"-30") and all associated manholes and inlets along with HMA surface removal, asphalt paving, and sidewalk and driveway replacement Each such deposit will be refunded if the Drawings and Contract Documents are returned in good condition within 10 days after Bid opening. A certified check or bank draft, payable to the order of the City of Streator , negotiable U.S. Government bonds (at par value) or a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and an acceptable surety in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total Bid shall be submitted with each Bid. Attention is called to the fact that not less than the minimum salaries and wages as set forth in the Contract Documents (Illinois Wage Rate Decision IL20200013 dated 12/18/20) must be paid on this project, and that the Contractor must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, color, religion, sex, or national origin. This procurement isalso subject to the loan recipient's policy regarding the increased use of disadvantaged business enterprises. The loan recipient's policy requires all bidders to undertake specified affirmative efforts at least sixteen (16) days prior to bid opening. The policy is contained in the specifications. The City of Streator reserves the right to reject any or all Bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding. Bids may be held by the City of Streator for a period not to exceed 90 days from the date of the opening of Bids for the purpose of reviewing the Bids and investigating the qualifications of Bidders, prior to awarding of the Contract.
