Demolition, site work and new construction of a mixed-use development in Southington, Connecticut. Completed plans call for the demolition of a water / sewer project; and for the construction of a pre-engineered storage facility.

The work consists of replacing a dry pit wastewater pump station with a prepackaged precast concrete submersible type pump station, installation of outdoor generator, electrical enclosures, and site features, and demolition of an above-grade building and wet well. A bid deposit shall be furnished in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders, in the form of a certified check or a bid bond, on form provided in Section 00430 of the Project Manual, for 10% of the amount of the bid, to accompany each proposal. Bidders shall be Department of Administrative Services (DAS) pre-qualified under the category of Water Treatment Plants under C.G.S. 4b-91 as amended. Bidders are advised that both the DAS Prequalification Certificate and Update (Bid) Statement must accompany the Bid proposal for projects estimated to exceed $500,000. Failure to supply these forms with the Bid will result in rejection of the Bid. The time period for holding Bids is 120 days, Saturdays, Sundays and legal holidays excluded, after opening of Bids. The Work will be substantially completed within 365 days from the date of the Notice to Proceed and completed and ready for final payment If the Successful Bidder fails to furnish the required contract security within 15 days after the Notice of Award and execute the Agreement within 5 days after receipt from Owner, Owner may annul the Notice of Award and the Bid deposit of that Bidder will be forfeited to Owner as liquidated damages for such failure.
