Shady Side Elementary School Exterior Wall Repairs 1. Remove and dispose of existing wall components as indicated, including damaged brick, mortar materials, sealant materials, and damaged concrete materials. Remove steel lintels and associated flashings at abandoned infilled louvers (Division 02 Section "Selective Structure Demolition"). 2. Repair spalled concrete where indicated (Division 03 Section "Maintenance of Concrete"). 3. Remove and replace damaged brick masonry. Repoint brick masonry where indicated (Division 04 Section "Maintenance of Unit Masonry"). 4. Provide horizontal mortar joint repairs, including the installation of retrofit helical ties (Division 04 Section "Maintenance of Unit Masonry"). 5. Remove vegetative growth and clean masonry (Division 04 Section "Maintenance of Unit Masonry"). 6. Provide composite wall and soffit panels at window and door openings where indicated (Division 07 Section "Composite Wall and Soffit Panels"). 7. Provide new masonry throughwall flashings at door and mechanical vent heads, and where indicated (Division 07 Section "Sheet Metal Flashings and Trim"). 8. Provide continuous sealant and backer rod at wall openings to include windows, louvers, and doors (Division 07 Section "Joint Sealants"). 9. Provide continuous sealant and backer rod at existing vertical control joints. At locations indicated, sawcut new vertical control joints and provide continuous backer rod and sealant (Division 07 Section "Joint Sealants"). 10. Prepare, prime, and paint exterior surfaces where indicated (Division 09 Section "Painting"). 11. Provide elastomeric coating on exposed masonry and concrete surfaces where indicated (Division 09 Section "Elastomeric Coatings"). 12. Disconnect and reconnect existing mechanical/electrical components to restore proper operation to equipment as required to perform the work (Division 23 Section "Mechanical/Electrical General Requirements").
