Renovation of a fire / police facility in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Completed plans call for the renovation of a fire / police facility.

1. Replace all ceilings with new 2'x2' suspended tiles and grid as specified. (Commercial grade and Detention grade) Includes 9" batt insulation above tile. 2. Install new vinyl tile floors, carpet tile, or new coating on concrete floors. Install 4" vinyl base at v.c.t. and carpet tiles. 3. Apply specified coating to all existing CMU walls and painted gypsum board. 4. Install new cabinets as shown and replace cabinet tops as specified. 5. Install new light fixtures as specified. 6. Install new ductwork or clean existing ductwork as specified. 7. Install new mechanical equipment as shown on drawings. 8. The Work includes all necessary labor and materials to construct the complete project as indicated in the Construction Documents. 9. Replace communication, camera, and data system as specified. 10. Replace sprinkler heads and repair system as specified on drawings. 11. Refinish all detention bunks, tables, stools, and benches as specified. 12. Replace all broken glass in detention windows. 13. Paint all designated walls, doors, window frames, partitions, and stair railing. 14. Replace plumbing fixtures as shown and specified. 15. Replace all detention swinging doors and all hollow metal doors and frames as specified. Provide all controls and power wiring to detention doors. In addition, provide all hardware for doors. The deposit of all other set of documents will be refunded fifty percent (50%) upon return of documents as stated above.Prime bidders is defined as licensed Building Contractors bidding this job as such.Preference is given to materials, supplies, and provisions that are produced, manufactured, or grown in Louisiana, quality being equal to articles offered by competitors outside the State. All bids must be accompanied by bid security equal to five percent (5%) of the sum of the base bid and all alternates, and must be in the form of a certified check or cashiers check drawn on a bank insured by the FDIC, or a Bid Bond Form contained in bidding documents, which shall be written by a surety or insurance company currently on the U.S. Department of the Treasury Financial Management Service list of approved bonding companies which is published annually in the Federal Register, or by a Louisiana domiciled insurance company with at least an A- rating in the latest printing of the A.M. Best's Key Rating Guide to write individual bonds up to ten percent (10%) of policyholders' surplus as shown in the A.M. Best's Key Rating Guide or by an insurance company in good standing licensed to write bid bonds which is either domiciled in Louisiana or owned by Louisiana residents, all in accordance with LSAR.S. 38:2218. No Bid Bond indicating an obligation of less than five percent (5%) by any method is acceptable. If bid is submitted electronically, an electronic bid bond as described in LSA--R.S. 38:2212 E.(1) per the standardadopted by the office of the governor, division of administration and the office of the information technology as provided for in LAC 4:XV.701 will be required. The successful bidder shall be required to furnish a Performance and Payment Bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract amount, which shall be written by a surety or insurance company currently on the U.S. Department of the Treasury Financial Management Service list of approved bonding companies which is published annually in the Federal Register, or by a Louisiana domiciled insurance company with at least an A- rating in the latest printing of the A.M. Best's Key Rating Guide to write individual bonds up to ten percent (10%) of policyholders' surplus as shown in the A.M. Best's Key Rating Guide or by an insurance company in good standing licensed to write bid bonds which is either domiciled in Louisiana or owned by Louisiana residents, all in accordance with LSAR.S. 38:2219 Sheriff Tony Mancuso/Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids for just caue as permitted by LA R.S. 38:2214B. The ability of an entity to reject any bid is applicable only when administered in accordance with the Public Bid Law. In accordance with LSAR.S. 38:2212B.(1), the provisions and requirements of this Section, and those stated in the bidding documents shall not be waived by any entity. Official action on this bid will be taken within forty-five (45) days by Sheriff Tony Mancuso, except as may be extended by mutual written consent with the lowest responsible bidder.
