The scope of the project consists primarily of 3,500 Linear feet of existing 6-inch waterline being replaced with a 10-inch waterline and approximately 12 service reconnections. Work shall include traffic control and site restoration. BIDDERS should inspect the site and be knowledgeable of all local conditions. Time of completion shall be 180 calendar days, including weekends and holidays. All bids must be plainly marked with the project name and bid number. No faxed bids will be accepted. Each Bid must be accompanied by a Bid Bond or a certified or cashier check, acceptable to the owner, in the amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the total amount bid, as a guaranty. The successful bidder(s) will be required to furnish a performance and payment bond each in the amount of the contract and a maintenance bond in the amount of 100% of the contract. NO BID may be withdrawn after the scheduled opening for at least ninety (90) calendar days. THE CITY reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive formalities and award the bid to the lowest responsive and most qualified bidder. The project has been designed by BGE, Inc., 10777 Westheimer, Suite 400, Houston, Texas 77042 (phone 281-558-8700) who is hereinafter called Engineer and who is to act as Owner's representative, assume all duties and responsibilities and have the rights and authority assigned to Engineer in the Contract Documents in connection with completion of the Work in accordance with the Contract Documents.
