Site work, remodeling and addition to an educational facility in Scarborough, Ontario. Design plans call for the addition of a 30,000-square-foot, three-story above grade educational facility.
Construction of a two-storey, eight classroom addition to a JK-8 elementary school located in north Scarborough. The project includes construction of a five-room childcare and will replace six portables are currently on-site. TIMELINE: The project has been identified as a priority as part of the Top 10 Capital Priority Projects for 2020-21. In July of 2022 the Ministry of Education (EDU) provided capital funding approval to construct a new permanent addition and Childcare at David Lewis PS. In August of 2022, the Facility Space Template was approved. The project has been proposed for the 2023 school year to alleviate accommodation pressure. Working drawings are expected to proceed early 2024 for completion fall/winter 2024. Building permit submissions are anticipated early 2025. Tender for general contractor is expected spring, 2025 for construction summer 2025. Moffet & Duncan have completed the feasibility study and concept plan.
