Site work, new construction and renovation of a mixed-use development in Huntington Park, California. Completed plans call for the construction of a 30,000-square-foot, two-story above grade playground / park / athletic field; for the renovation of a playground / park / athletic field; and for site work for a playground / park / athletic field.
The City of Huntington Park ("City") will be soliciting proposals from Design-Build ("DB") Entities to design and construct an aquatics center ("Project"). It is City's intent to award a single contract to a selected DB Entity to deliver the Project. Notice is hereby given that City is soliciting Statements of Qualifications (SOQs) from DB Entities (together with team members specified herein) in order to solicit information in the form of a qualification questionnaire and qualification statements. All DB Entities that intend to submit a proposal for the Project must fully complete the SOQ package and provide all materials requested herein. City will create a list of qualified DB Entities as determined in the City's sole determination as set forth herein. Only listed DB Entities will be issued a Request for Proposals ("RFP"). Following receipt of Proposals, City will select the proposal that City determines to provide the best value, based on qualifications and other factors that will be set forth in the RFP. The City Aquatic Center Project (Project) consists of a new 30,000 square foot two-story state-ofthe-art aquatic center, with an Olympic size pool (competition 50-meter pool), locker rooms, showers, saunas, gym/exercise room (overlooking the swimming pool from the second floor), conference rooms, multi-purpose room, public restrooms, new playground, new football field, facade modifications to a separate existing building and various infrastructure modifications to accommodate the Project. The estimated budget for the Scope of Work referenced in Section "B" will not exceed Thirty Million Dollars($30,000,000). Questions or objections must be submitted to croldan@hpca.gov Requests for Clarification Deadline June 10, 2021 The City Aquatic Center Project (Project) consists of a new 30,000 square foot two-story state-ofthe-art aquatic center, with an Olympic size pool (competition 50-meter pool), locker rooms, showers, saunas, gym/exercise room (overlooking the swimming pool from the second floor), conference rooms, multi-purpose room, public restrooms, new playground, new football field, facade modifications to a separate existing building and various infrastructure modifications to accommodate the Project. Completion of the Project will require the following tasks: o Geotechnical engineering and testing o Demolition, debris removal and disposal o Produce a schematic design for City approval o Grading, recompacting, backfilling o Surveying of existing conditions o Excavation o Trenching and construction of all site utilities o Project management and supervision o Installation of all materials and fixtures o Design and construction scheduling o Obtaining all applicable permitting from State, County and local agencies o Obtaining all applicable utility permits o Closeout All design and construction Work must be substantially completed within Five Hundred Twentyfive (525) calendar days after the Date of Commencement established in City's initial Notice to Proceed. Final Completion shall be within 30 days of Substantial Completion. Any proposer with objections to terms contained in City's Design-Build Agreement for the Project must advise City of such objections and request modifications, with its Proposal. Failure of a proposer to accept the terms of City's Design-Build Agreement for the Project may result in the rejection of the Proposal. It shall be the responsibility of the prospective proposer to review all sections and exhibits of the Design-Build Agreement for the Project, including insurance requirements. If no objections are received, City will assume the proposer is able to and will enter into the Design-Build Agreement for the Project and fulfill the terms and requirements set therein. City may recover any damages accruing to City as a result of the successful proposer's failure or refusal to execute City's Design-Build Agreement for the Project.
