In April 2014, the voters of the City of Miami Gardens approved a General Obligation Bond issue in the amount of $60,000,000 for the construction of improvements to and at multiple City parks and related facilities along with new or remodeled buildings. The City Council subsequently approved a Bond Implementation Plan that more clearly lists and details the proposed improvements at each park facility or government property. Included in the City of Miami Gardens Bond Implementation Plan is the further development of Andover Park, 100 NE 209th Terrace, Miami Gardens, FL 33179. The City of Miami Gardens is requesting sealed proposals from qualified Contractor(s) to provide overall park improvements at Andover Park. Contractor must have previous experience in the services requested for the Andover Park Improvements project delivery and must be licensed to engage in contracting under FSS 489.119. If fewer than three (3) interested proposers respond to this solicitation, the Procurement Director may extend the deadline for submittal by up to four (4) weeks. Submittals will only be opened following the final submittal due date. Q & A deadline: Feb 04, 2021 5:00:00 PM EST As a part of Price Proposals, a Bid Security guarantee in an amount of ten percent (10%) of the total bid amount shall accompany each Proposer's Proposal. The surety on any bid bond shall be a company recognized to execute bid bonds for contracts in the State of Florida. The Bid Bond may, at the discretion of the Proposer, be in the form of a cash equivalent per City Code Section 2-752 payable to the City of Miami Gardens. The Bid Bond, or cash equivalent shall stand for the Proposer's obligation to timely and properly execute the contract if awarded and supply all other submittals due therewith. The amount of the Bid Bond shall be a liquidated sum, which shall be due in full in the event of Proposer default, regardless of the actual damages suffered.
The Bid Bond of remaining Proposers shall be released upon contract award and execution or one hundred and twenty (120) days, whichever is less. Andover Park Improvements does not require posting of a bid bond or other bid security. The selected Contractor will be required to submit Performance and Payment bonds equal to 100% of the project value. The City reserves the right but not the obligation to revise any insurance requirement, or reject any insurance coverage which fails to meet the criteria stated herein at any time.
