Proposals will be acted on by the Grundy Center Development Corp, at a meeting to be held at Noon local time on February 11th, 2021, or at such later time and place as may then be fixed. The Grundy Center, Development Corp, reserves the right to award the Contract at the time of said meeting or at such later time may then be fixed and to reject any or all bids and to waive technicalities and irregularities and to enter into such Contract as it shall deem to be for the best interests of said Owner. Bidding on the improvements is open to all contractors, but the Grundy Center Development Committee reserves the right to accept a bid from a local contractor even if they are not the apparent low bidder. The extent of the work involved is as follows: Installation of public utilities (water main, storm sewer, and sanitary sewer) to provide service the future Prairie Ridge Addition - Phase 1 residential subdivision. Copies of Plans and Specifications are on file and may be inspected at the office ofClapsaddle-Garber Associates, Marshalltown (16 East Main Street, Suite 400, Marshalltown, Iowa 50158) or Ackley (739 Park Avenue, Ackley, Iowa 50601 ). Contract Time - The work under the contract shall actively commence within ten (10) days upon issuance of the Notice to Proceed. The utility improvements as above described shall be completed by July 1, 2021 as part of the base bid. An alternate bid shall also be submitted for a completion date of December 1, 2021. This project is subject to liquidated damages as described within the project manual. The Notice to Proceed shall be issued at a preconstruction conference to be held at a future determined date after a fully executed contract. Each proposal must be accompanied with a bid security as defined in Iowa Code Section 26.8, as security that the successful bidder will enter into a contract for the work bid upon and will furnish after the award of contract a corporate surety bond, in a form acceptable to the Jurisdiction, for the faithful performance of the contract, in an amount equal to 100% of the amount of the contract. The bidder's security shall be in the amount fixed in the Instruction to Bidders and shall be in the form of a cashier's check or a certified check drawn on an FDIC insured bank in Iowa or on an FDIC insured bank chartered under the laws of the United States; or a certified share draft drawn on a credit union in Iowa or chartered under the laws of the United States; or a bid bond on the form provided in the contract documents with corporate surety satisfactory to the Jurisdiction and filed in an envelope separate from the one containing the proposal, made payable to: Treasurer, Grundy Center Development Corp. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any informality in the bids received in the best interest ofthe Jurisdiction. The Grundy Center Development Corp. (GCDC) reserves the right to accept a bid from a local contractor even ifthe contractor is not the apparent low bidder. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a performance and payment bond in the amount equal to 100% ofthe contract price at the time of contract execution.
