Due to COVID-19 directives, City Hall is currently closed to the public. However, staff members will be present outside of City Hall starting at 1:30 p.m. and will remain onsite until after the bid opening is completed.It is highly recommended to arrive with sufficient time for bidders to be able to line up. Bidders coming to City Hall are required to wear appropriate face coverings per the City's Municipal Code and shall keep a minimum six (6) feet of separation while waiting in line to submit and during the bid opening process per the current social distancing guidelines. No Bid will be accepted unless it is made on a Bid Schedule form furnished by the Public Works Department, Engineering Division contained within the Specifications. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified or cashier's check, or bidder's bond, made payable to the City of Fullerton, for an amount equal to at least 10% of the amount bid, such guarantee to be forfeited should the bidder to whom the contract is awarded fail to enter into the contrac In addition, a Performance Bond in the amount of 100% of the bid, and a Labor and Materials Bond in the amount of 100% of the bid shall be required of the successful bidder prior to entering into a contract. The City will permit substitution of approved securities for monies retained on this project in accordance with Section 7-3.2 of the Standard Specifications for Public Works Construction ("Greenbook"), 2018 The Work shall consist of, but not limited to, cold milling pavement, asphalt concrete overlay, removing and constructing concrete hardscape, removing and constructing curb ramps, curb and gutter, sidewalk, driveways, alley return, adjusting manhole and water valves to grade, traffic control, signage and striping, water pollution control, and all related work. Liquidated Damages shall be $3,500 per calendar day The City intends to issue a Notice to Proceed on or before April 5, 2021. Contractor will take full responsibility for completing all precursory requirements necessary for this issuance. Contractor shall take note of the following dates and milestones: March 2, 2021Award of Contract to Lowest Responsible Bidder. March 23, 2021Contractor to submit agreement, bonds, insurance documents, Water Pollution Control Documents. March 30, 2021Preconstruction Meeting. April 5, 2021 Notice to Proceed/Start Construction The City Council reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive any informality in the bidding, and to accept any bid or portion thereof, by order of the City Council of the City of Fullerton.
