Notice is hereby given that the Township of Middletown, Bucks County, PA is seeking bidders to install an asphalt shingle roof and new gutters on the Barn at the Middletown Community Park located at 2600 Langhorne-Yardley Road, Langhorne, PA 19047. Requests for clarification are due Thursday, September 23, 2021 11:00:00 AM [(UTC-05:00) Eastern Time (US & Canada)]. This work consists of furnishing all labor, supervision, materials, tools, equipment, incidentals, and expertise necessary for the removal of the existing shingles down to wood decking, removal of the old gutters, fascia and down spouts and followed by the installation of approximately 83 squares (8,300 sf) of new architectural shingles roofing to the Barn, new aluminum wrapped fascia, wrapped rake board (also called bargeboard), new 6 gutters and 3x4 downspouts. See Section 8 for details. This project will not require ridge vents. All work to be completed in accordance with the building code of Middletown Township. The project area resides within the 42-acre property of Middletown Community Park, adjacent to a large parking lot and a basketball court. A visual overview of the project site is appended to this document The Contractor will commence the work within ten (10) calendar days after the date specified in the Notice to Proceed given to him by the Township to commence work and (s)he will complete the work within forty-five (45) days from the date specified in the Notice-To-Proceed Middletown Township is located in lower Bucks County in southeastern Pennsylvania, just northeast of the City of Philadelphia, and encompasses significant portions of the Langhorne and Levittown areas. Middletown Township is a second-class township governed by five elected Supervisors under a council-manager form of government. The Township operates with a $36 million annual budget and serves over 45,000 residents. It is the second-largest municipality in Bucks County and the eighthlargest municipality in suburban Philadelphia. The Township is home to several schools in Neshaminy School District, the county's largest mall (Oxford Valley Mall), and Sesame Place Theme Park. Middletown Community Park is located at 2600 Langhorne Yardley Road, Langhorne, PA 19047, in Middletown Township. The property is the Township's largest of nineteen parks, and is the Township's busiest park in terms of people using the facility on a daily basis. The Barn is a restored bank barn that has been turned into a multi-use recreation facility residing on the park grounds. The Barn's original timber frame construction with interlocking mortise and tenon joints is still intact. The property is situated in a residential area of Middletown Township, but is less than a mile away from the intersection of US-1 and Interstate 295 (formerly I-95) and is near the Township's eastern border with Falls Township.
