Demolition, site work and new construction of a mixed-use development in Key West Nas, Florida. Conceptual plans call for the demolition of a municipal facility; for the construction of a municipal facility; for site work for a municipal facility; office development; office development; and office development.
As of June 1, 2021, this project was cancelled. No further information available at this time. The Work consists of the demolition and construction of an approximately 4,800 square foot garage building located at the FKAA Rockland Key property in Monroe County, Florida. The Base Bid includes a new development including a ground floor two-story tilt-up exterior wall garage building. The Alternate Bid includes an elevated single floor office/administration building. The garage will be tilt-up wall construction while the office building will be column/beam with CMU infill. The site has an existing garage that will be replaced with the new garage structure and maintain the existing footprint. Minor upgrades to the parking layout will be included and the project to follow FBC and Monroe County standards. All of which shall be constructed in accordance with the Drawings. Questions regarding this solicitation shall be submitted in writing via electronically. Each proposal must be submitted on the prescribed form and accompanied by a copy of certified check or bid bond executed on the prescribed form, payable to the Florida Keys Aqueduct Authority, in an amount not less than 5 percent of the amount bid. The Contract, if awarded, will be awarded to the responsive and responsible bidder submitting the lowest single lump sum/unit cost price proposal, with consideration of any Alternate(s) accepted by the FKAA. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish the necessary additional bond(s) for the faithful performance of the Contract, as prescribed in the Contract Documents. All bid bonds, contract bonds, insurance contracts, and certificates of insurance shall be either executed by or countersigned by a licensed resident agent of the surety or insurance company having his place of business in the State of Florida, and in all ways complying with the insurance laws of the State of Florida. Further, the said surety or insurance company shall be duly licensed and qualified to do business in the State of Florida. In order to perform public work, the successful Bidder shall hold or obtain such Contractors' and Business Licenses as required by State Statutes. Before a Contract will be awarded for the work contemplated herein, the FKAA will conduct such investigation as is necessary to determine the performance record and ability of the apparent low bidder to perform the size and type of work specified under this Contract. Upon request, the Bidder shall submit such information as deemed necessary by the FKAA to evaluate the Bidder's qualifications. The FKAA reserves the right to reject all Proposals where the FKAA deems rejection to be in its best interest, or to reject any Proposal not in compliance with the Contract Documents. The FKAA reserves the right to waive any informalities and irregularities in said Proposals.
