Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a bridge / tunnel in Shawangunk, New York. Design plans call for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel; for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.

This project is included in the Ulster County fiscal years 2023-2028 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). As of June 20, 2023, this project is in the design phase. A firm timeline for construction has not been established; however, it is anticipated that the design will be complete in 2023 so that the construction may be bid out in Fall 2023 for construction in early 2024. The closed solicitation has been included below for reference. A detailed scope has not been released. The Galeville Bridge (BIN 3347430) is located in the Town of Shawangunk on the Wallkill River. It is a 300 foot two span steel truss constructed in the 1940s. The truss has over 40% section loss in areas and is nearing the end of its useful life. This project intends to hire a design consultant to survey and design for a construction project for bridge replacement in 2024. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly.
