The project includes the removal and replacement of the existing roofing, exterior soffit replacement, sealants, downspouts, and the related coordination and scheduling of the roof replacement process. The roof system will be covered by a 20-year no dollar limit labor and material warranty with a maintenance agreement. Chesapeake Public Schools reserves the right to cancel the bid opening or to reject any or all bids in whole or part when it is in the best interest of Chesapeake Public Schools. The right to waive any and all informalities and to determine responsibility of all bidders is reserved to Chesapeake Public Schools. The Owner reserves the right to negotiate any aspect of this bid with the lowest responsible and responsive bidder. No bid or any part thereof may be withdrawn or canceled or modified for 90 days after the bid opening, with the exception that bids may be withdrawn after opening in accordance with the procedures for Withdrawal of Bids, of the Code of Virginia. A bidders bond or certified check will be required in the amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the Base Bid. There will be a limit of one (1) representative per contractor at the site visit. A maximum of seven (7) companies will attend each session. Chesapeake Public Schools will make an effort to provide sufficient site visit sessions to accommodate all interested attendees. It is recommended that all attending wear a facemask or some type of cloth face covering during the site visit.If at any time the guidelines for public gatherings are changed, the District will make the necessary adjustments to remain in compliance with Coronavirus safety guidelines.
