Site work and new construction of a mixed-use development in Bracebridge, Ontario. Completed plans call for the construction of a 5,700-square-foot, one-story above grade municipal facility; and for site work for a municipal facility.

Simcoe Muskoka Family Connexions is pre-qualifying General Contractors for the provision of construction services for the construction of a new administration building at 137 Pine St. in Bracebridge, Ontario. The work is anticipated to include, but not necessarily be limited to: - Construction of a new building of approximately 5,700 sq. ft. (530 m2) on one level, housing new meeting spaces, access room, staff open office areas, offices, service spaces including a mechanical service space in the attic, washrooms, etc.; - Site works related to the clearing of the site, new services, new storm water service under Pine St., new outdoor mechanical and electrical pads, paved parking lot, landscape work including children's play structures and construction of new pedestrian access, and walkways; - It is anticipated that the construction project will be tendered in spring of 2024, with construction starting at the end of spring or early summer 2024; and - Agreement between the Owner and Contractor will be as per CCDC Document 2, Stipulated Price Contract - 2020 edition. Proposals shall be based upon CCDC 11 - 2019 Contractor's Qualification Statement as well as supplementary documentation to demonstrate the firm's safety record and financial bonding capabilities. Simcoe Muskoka Family Connexions aims to enhance and sustain an equitable, diverse and inclusive work environment through the use of an anti-racist, anti-oppressive, intersectionality framework to ensure to ensure the well-being of all, excellence in service delivery, fruitful partnerships, strong accountability, and an enhanced reputation locally and provincially. General Contractors interested in being qualified to bid the work MUST submit the following: 1. Completed CCDC Document 11 Form; 2. Letter from a nationally recognized Surety Company stating total bonding limit, current bonding committed; and confirming availability of required Bonding for projects of this size - 50% Performance Bond and 50% Labour and Material Payment Bond; 3. Detailed description of the Contractor's Health and Safety Policy and written confirmation that all Health and Safety policies will be followed for the duration of the project; 4. Detailed description of the Contractor's Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Policy and written confirmation that all DEI policies will be followed for the duration of the project; and, 5. A minimum of three (3) projects with a minimum construction value of $3.0M, similar in scope and size completed in the last 5 years, including name and location of the project, owner, year of completion, construction cost, and brief description of the work. Contact information (name, qualification, telephone, fax and e-mail) of owner's representative - must be intimately familiar with the project - is required for each of the three submitted projects. Tenders will be invited from the list of prequalified Contractors only. The prequalification process will include an assessment of previous performance in a number of areas, including, but not limited to: - Similar work, scheduling, project management; - Workmanship, and final completion, correction of deficiencies, Health and Safety, Diversity Equity and Inclusion; - Contractors local to the Simcoe Muskoka area; - Past experience with Simcoe Muskoka Family Connexions or the Architect may also be considered in the selection process; - Demonstrated experience on projects with engineered wood trusses; - Demonstrated experience on projects with polished slab-on-grade concrete floors. Simcoe Muskoka Family Connexions reserves the right to accept or reject any or all applications or to extend the pre-qualification process at their discretion. Prequalification information shall be submitted to the Architect no later than 12:00 noon local time on Wednesday, January 03, 2023.
