A contract will be awarded or all bids rejected within 30 days after the bid opening. Project will include replacing approximately 1400 LF of 8-inch water main, 855 LF of 18-inch storm sewer, full reconstruction of 900 linear feet of NW Pacific Ave from Main Street to Park Avenue to include full road reconstruction within the right-of-way. New street light installation, curb, gutter and sidewalk improvements. The project will also resurface 9600 SF of existing pavement in Prindle Street. This project is a Public Works Project funded by the City of Chehalis. Contractor will be required to and shall pay each employee an amount not less than the State Prevailing Rate of Wage, as specified by Washington State. Technical inquiries regarding the project will only be accepted via email to the office of the Project Engineer, RB Engineering, Inc., 91 SW 13th Street, PO Box 923, Chehalis, Washington 98532, email Civilpros@RBEngineers.com. All bid proposals shall be accompanied by a bid proposal deposit in cash, certified check, cashier's check or surety bond in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the amount of such bid proposal. Should the successful bidder fail to enter into such contract and furnish satisfactory contract bond within the time stated in the specifications, the bid proposal deposit shall be forfeited to the City of Chehalis. The City of Chehalis requires E-Verify compliance on all public works contracts with a contract amount equal to or greater than $1,000, per City Ordinance No. 857-B. Awarded contractors shall have 30 calendar days after the execution of the contract to register and enter into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) E-Verify program. The City of Chehalis hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in any contracts entered into pursuant to this advertisement, minority business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, creed, sex or natural origin in consideration for an award. The City of Chehalis reserves the right to reject any and all bids or waive any informality in the bidding and make the award as deemed to be in the best interest of the Port of Chehalis and the U.S. Bidder agrees that the Work will be substantially complete on or before August 2, 2021 and will be completed and ready for final payment in accordance with Paragraph 15.06 of the General Conditions on or before August 16, 2021
