As of July 6, 2022, information regarding an award for this solicitation is not available. At this time, it is not known if an award has been made or when construction is anticipated to begin. Closed solicitation has been included below for reference. ................ According to Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Advisory Circular (AC) 150/5320-12C, Measurement, Construction, And Maintenance of Skid-Resistant Airport Pavement Surface, cutting or forming grooves in existing or new pavement is a proven and effective technique for providing skid-resistance and prevention of hydroplaning during wet weather. Grooving of all runways, serving or expected to serve turbojet aircraft, is considered high priority safety work and should be accomplished during initial construction. Such existing runways without grooving should be programmed as soon as practicable. Runway 10L-28R at Montgomery-Gibbs Executive Airport (MYF) is the primary runway at the airport and currently serves turbojet aircraft. The runway received a major renovation in 2012 but did not include grooving in the scope. This project will enhance airport safety by adding grooving to Runway 10L-28R. Runway 10L-28R is 4,598-feet long and 150-feet wide and is lighted with Medium Intensity Runway Edge Lighting (MIRL). It is an asphalt runway with a displaced threshold and precision instrument markings on 28R and basic visual markings on 10L. The full length and width of Runway 10L-28R shall be evaluated to determine if the existing pavement is suitable for grooving, and if not, what measures are required to make it suitable for grooving. Runway 10L-28R shall be prepared, based on the evaluation, then grooved. Existing light fixtures and signs shall be protected in-place. Following grooving, all debris shall be removed, and all runway markings shall be replaced in accordance with current standards.
