Bid bonds may be submitted electronically through the facilities of portal in satisfaction of the Bid Security requirements described herein; however, certified or cashier's checks in satisfaction of the Bid Security requirements must be enclosed in a sealed envelope, plainly identified on the outside with the contents, the bidder's name, and the job name and number and addressed and delivered as prescribed in the Invitation to Bidders for sealed bids. Due to the pandemic and the Federal guidelines of not gathering in groups of more than 10 people, people who want to attend the bid opening meeting must do so by telephone. The electronic and physical bids will be publicly opened and read on the conference call. Bids will not be accepted by email. The project is located south of the intersection of SH 242 and Harper's Trace, Montgomery County Municipal Utility District No. 95, Montgomery County, Texas. To access the site, proceed east from the intersection of I-45 and SH-242, approximately 1.7 miles, south along Harper's Trace, approximately 0.60 miles, and then east along South Goshawk Trail, approximately 0.1 miles. For construction contracts $50,000 and over but less than $250,000, the bidder shall submit a certified or cashier's check on a responsible bank in the State equal to two percent (2%) of the maximum total bid amount. For construction contracts over $250,000, the bidder shall submit either a 2% certified or cashier's check or five percent (5%) bid bond of the maximum total bid amount. Make the cashier's check or bid bonds payable to the Owner. Bids received after the closing time will be returned unopened. There will be NO pre-bid conference for this project. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and waive any or all irregularities. No bid may be withdrawn until the expiration of 90 days from the date bids are opened.
