Renovation of a municipal facility in Dayton, Ohio. Design plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
RA Consultants has been retained by the City of Dayton Division of Water Reclamation to inspect the existing Biosolids Sludge Storage Building by an experienced structural engineer to ascertain and assess the structural condition and integrity of the existing pre-engineered metal building. This includes visual inspection of the concrete foundation/knee walls, concrete floor slab, steel rigid frames, wall girts and siding, roof purlins and roof panels. Examples of potential defects include structural cracks in concrete walls and floor, spalling and delamination of concrete elements, exposed and corroded rebar, corrosion of steel framing elements especially roof purlins, peeling or failing of protective coating, loose connections, damaged roof panels and wall panels. The inspection is also to include: Photographic documentation of identified defects. As of March 14, 2022, the design firm has been selected. The construction document completion timeline was not disclosed. The firm construction timelines has not been identified.
