Renovation of an educational facility in Weston, Massachusetts. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
The services to be provided by the Designer are specified in three phases as indicated below; the third phase to be undertaken only if authorized by the Town Manager, which authorization shall depend, among other factors, on the determination that sufficient funding is available for the work and following approval of Project by Weston Town Meeting. Phase 1: The Designer shall fully develop Schematic Designs and Design Development Plans (35% of design) for the renovation of the Lower Level of Building A for the purposes described in the Program. It will be the responsibility of the designer to adhere to the Massachusetts State Building Code (latest edition) and to comply with all other laws and regulations pertinent to the design of this facility including, but not limited to, Town of Weston Bylaws and Board of Health Rules and Regulations. Phase 2: Upon approval by the Elderly Housing Committee/PBC, Town and the authorization of the Town Manager, the Designer shall undertake Phase 2, which includes completion of Design Development, preparation of Construction Documents, and Bidding Phase assistance. Phase 3: Working with the PBC, including input from the Elderly Housing Committee, the Designer shall provide Construction Administration and Inspection Services as required by the Massachusetts State Building . Technical questions regarding this bid should be directed in writing to the Facilities Director, Gary Jarobski, at jarobskig@weston.org. All technical inquiries must be received no later than Friday, February 16, 2024 at 5:00 PM and responses to all inquiries will be issued to all proposers of record no later than Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at 5:00 P.M. The anticipated total cost for the project which includes two housing units and other associated work is $950,000, including all architectural/engineering costs. The Awarding Authority reserves the right to reject any and all proposals and to award the contract it deems in the best interest of the Town.
