Renovation of a medical facility in Verdun, Quebec. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a medical facility.
Project of infrastructure modernization at the Douglas Mental Health University Institute including major upgrades to the Hospital building in order to remedy the building dilapidation and better meet its clinical and academic needs. Project aims to bring hospitalization units for adult and geriatric psychiatric patients up to functional standards (177 beds in single rooms) as well as the development of a modern basic research sector in neuroscience (wet laboratories), compliant with standards and fully integrated into the clinical operations of the Institute. TIMELINE: The project is in a preliminary stage and is included into the list of the Quebec Treasury Board of project with values equal or exceeding $50M as a "Project under study". Preparation of a heritage, landscape and urban study for the project is underway. The awarded professional consultants are working on the establishment of a real estate analysis of the existing facilities the preparation of a functional program and of chapters 1 and 2 of the Opportunity file for the Douglas Institute infrastructure renewal project. The opportunity file will allow to specify the best long-term option and the total cost of the project is ongoing. Timelines of further project development, scope of work and budget are not finalized pending the implementation of all preliminary procedures.
