Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a bridge / tunnel in Newville, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel; for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.
Work included under this contract consists of all site work to suit project preparation, execution, and completion. This includes demolition of existing structure Cowpens Road over South Branch Laurel Run (#03-0044). It will be replaced with a concrete spread box beam bridge on integral abutments with an 18-foot clear roadway width. Replacement at each structure will also include driving surface aggregate, rock lining, approach slabs, and guiderail including end treatments. Bidders for this project shall be listed as Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) prequalified, as a Prime Contractor, in Category S1. Responsive bidders must hold a current small business certification from Pennsylvania Department of General Services Engineer's Estimate: $100,000 - $500,000 It is further proposed to execute the Contract, including the bonds, in accordance with the requirements of the General Conditions, to begin work within ten (10) days after receipt of Notice to Proceed, and to complete the work within Three Hundred Sixty Five (365) calendar days after the official starting date.
