Palletized Pine Straw Must meet the following specifications: Pine straw shall be compressed into bales, 12" x 15" x 24" nominal dimensions.Pine straw shall consist of Slash pine needles or similar yellow pine species, baled within 4 weeks of shipment. Pine straw shall be dried material. Molded or excessively aged product that has lost its original color shall not be accepted. Pine straw shall be palletized and shrink- or stretch-wrapped and plastic capped. Pine straw may be ordered in minimum quantity of 8 pallets, 42 bales per pallet. (Full truckload is approximately 1008 to 1092 bales). Pine Bark Fines/Soil Conditioner. Processed pine bark mulch shall be screened to a particle size of 3/8 inch or less, with the average size being between 1/4 inch and 3/8 inch.Bark mulch shall be reddish-brown in color, and relatively free of wood particles.Bark mulch shall be completely organic and entirely non-toxic.Molded or excessively aged product that has lost its original color shall not be accepted. Bark mulch shall be packaged in 2 cubic foot polyethylene bags, and stacked on pallets. Palleted stacks shall be plastic-wrapped and capped. Sample material may be requested by the Commonwealth for inspection before delivery. Delivered quantities may be adjusted to accommodate a full truck load. Pine Bark Mulch, Small Sized Particles.Processed pine bark mulch shall be screened to a particle size of one-half inch or less, with the average size being between 1/4 and 3/4 inch. Bark mulch shall be reddish-brown in color, may contain up to 15% wood or cambium pieces of similar size. Bark mulch shall be completely organic and entirely non-toxic.Molded or excessively aged product that has lost its original color shall not be accepted.Bark mulch shall be packaged in 2 cubic foot polyethylene bags, and stacked on pallets. Palleted stacks shall be plastic-wrapped and capped. Sample material may be requested by the Commonwealth for inspection before delivery.
