The City of Galesburg is accepting bids for providing and installing chain link fence around the City of Galesburg Street Department Building located in Galesburg, IL. Successful vendor shall install approximately 918 ft. of 6 ft. high galvanized chain link fence, one 20 ft. double swing gate, and one 25 ft. manual cantilever slide gate. Refer to attached drawing. SS 40 pipe shall be allowed as an acceptable substitute for the Sch. 40 pipe specified for the rails and posts.Minimum General Specifications for Materials to be Installed ,Fabric - Galvanized 1.2oz. Fabric Height - 6 ft. 0 in. Gauge of Fence - 9 Fence Mesh - 2 in. Overall Height - 6 ft. 0 in. Top Rails - 1- 5/8 in. (Sch. 40) Line Posts - 2- 1/2 in. (Sch. 40) Terminal Posts - 3 in. (Sch. 40) Gate Posts - 4 in. (Sch. 40) Bracing - 1- 5/8 in. Hinges - Bulldog Ties - 9 gauge aluminum Not less than the Prevailing Rate of Wages as found by the City of Galesburg, or the Department of Labor, or determined by the Court of Review, shall be paid to all Laborers, Workmen and Mechanics performing work under this contract. All work is subject to the Davis-Bacon Act and all prevailing wage laws. The contractor and all subcontractors shall submit certified copies of his payroll weekly for all work undertaken on the project. Failure to keep current on submittal of payrolls shall be cause to withhold payment for completed work. The contractor shall carry insurance as required by the Standard Provisions. Proof of insurance coverages shall be submitted to the City and shall be kept in force until all work to be performed under the terms of the contract has been accepted. The City of Galesburg reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any informalities or technicalities in the bidding. Any bid submitted will be binding for (60) sixty days after the date of the bid opening.
