The Municipality of Clarington is seeking a qualified company to complete the construction of approximately 470 m of new paved multi-use trail in Courtice (referred to as the "Farewell Creek Trail Phase 2A"). The new trail will extend from the existing Phase 1 Farewell Creek trail located south of Highway 2 and will include two (2) pedestrian bridges crossing over Farewell Creek in addition to a tri-culvert crossing of a tributary to the Farewell Creek. In order to gain access to the Farewell Creek Valley a 255 m construction access will also be required from Darlington Boulevard. All work to be completed in accordance with the terms, conditions and specifications contained within the tender document: The project scope includes: - New construction of the Farewell Creek Trail Phase 2A from the limit of the Phase 1 Farewell Creek Trail including earthworks, granular subbase, drainage and paving over a length of approximately 470 m; - Construction of an Access Route over a length of approximately 255 m including earthworks, granular base, fencing, and all other work as specified on drawings in accordance with specifications; - A 15.2 m span prefabricated pedestrian bridge and a 24.0 m span steel girder pedestrian bridge both with bin-wall corrugated steel abutments; - Construction of a 1030 mm X 740 mm tri-culvert tributary crossing; and - Associated restoration, plantings and erosion protection. The proposed work will be phased to minimize the area of disturbance, allow for dewatering and flow management, and to minimize the duration of time required to complete works. Trees in the immediate vicinity of proposed pedestrian bridge crossing locations have been marked in the field with orange marking paint.
