Berkeley County, one of the largest in the state, is a unique setting covering over 1,229 square miles. It is the fastest growing county in the state, in terms of population, and is located just north of Charleston, South Carolina. It is the fourth largest school system in the state currently serving almost 36,000 students ranging from pre-school to high school. The District currently operates 47 schools (24 elementary/ intermediate schools, 11 middle schools, 10 high schools). Due to a wealth of new industry moving into Berkeley County and the surrounding area, population growth is expected to accelerate during the next several years. All work on kitchen exhaust hoods to be coordinated with the designated BCSD Operations and Facilities Department supervisor.
