Site work for a water / sewer project in Wapello, Iowa. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The project shall consist of providing all materials, equipment and labor necessary to install the work as defined as follows: Base Bid: Painting Bowl Interior (immersed and non-immersed area); Lump Sum; Alternate A: Painting Tower Exterior and Interior Non-immersed Areas, Lump Sum; Alternate B: Tower Manway Rehabilitation, Lump Sum. Work includes all necessary traffic control, mobilization and other associated appurtenances and miscellaneous work items. All Work and equipment is to be in accordance with the Plans, Specifications and Contract Documents on file with the City Clerk of the City of Wapello, Iowa, which are by this reference made a part of this Notice as though fully set out and incorporated herein. The Bidder is eligible to receive an exemption from the State of Iowa Sales Tax. The City expects the Contractor to obtain the Sales Tax Exemption from the City. State of Iowa Sales Tax shall NOT be included in the bid. By virtue of statutory authority, a preference will be given to products and provisions grown and coal produced within the state of Iowa. Bid security in the form of a cashier's check or certified check drawn on a state-chartered or federally chartered bank, or a certified share draft drawn on a state-chartered or federally chartered credit union, or a bidder's bond with corporate surety satisfactory to the City, in the amount of 10% of the bid. Work shall commence within ten (10) calendar days after receipt of the written "Notice to Proceed". All work shall be completed by October 1, 2021 subject to any time extension that may be granted by the Council. One hundred percent (100%) of the bid, with a maintenance period of three (3) years from the time of final project acceptance by the Owner. Monthly estimates equivalent to ninety-five percent (95%) of the Contract value of the work completed during the preceding calendar month with 5% retainage. Remaining retainage, if any, will be paid within 30 days after final acceptance by the City.
