You are invited to bid on the demolition of removal of the College Heights Foundation building located on the main campus of Western Kentucky University at 1480 Colonnade Drive. The building should be removed in its entirety including footers/foundations and existing underground utility piping. The 21/2 story building was originally built in 1969 consisting of total gross square feet 4853. The 2 1/2 story building was originally built in 1969 consisting of total gross square feet 4853. All debris shall be removed from the site and disposed of at an approved landfill fully permitted to accept construction debris. All loads shall be fully manifested and copies of same shall be submitted to the owner. An abatement inspection is underway. Base bid shall assume all asbestos material has been abated. The use of explosive charges is strictly prohibited. The entire site shall be considered to be unclassified with regard to excavation. Storm water management compliance shall be the responsibility of the contractor including NOI, inspections, and reports. The main campus of WKU is an MS-4 permitted storm water entity. Silt fencing placement and maintenance is the responsibility of the contractor. Due care shall also be taken and to minimize any dirt/mud/debris from being introduced to the adjacent public roadways and the contractor shall be fully responsible for the cleanliness of the surrounding sidewalks, roadways, and surrounding property. Unless otherwise stated, all Contractors and/or Subcontractors shall not make any changes to the contract, scope of work on any project, or any provisions spelled out in this document unless given permission to do so by the Planning, Design & Construction Project Manager, (or the PDC Purchasing Department in the form of a written addendum or Advice of Change). Contractors and/or Subcontractors may not make ANY changes unless expressly approved by the WKU-PDC Project Manager in charge. If changes are requested by any WKU personnel or anyone else other than the Project Manager, the Contractors shall promptly convey this information to the PDC Project Manager for approval before such a change can commence.
