The City of Raleigh Water Treatment Division is soliciting bids for the installation of a Precast Flow Meter Vault on the Raw Water Line at the existing Raw Water Pump Station. The Raw Water Line will remain in service throughout the installation. This is the only source supply pipe for the D.E. Benton Water Treatment Plant so the installation must be performed in a manner that does not interrupt the single source raw water supply to the plant. The contractor will be responsible for the excavation, meter vault installation, run all the required conduits specified in the scope of work, and for the asphalt repairs. The contractor shall provide all labor, supervision, tools, transportation, equipment, and materials necessary for the installation and asphalt repairs. This is a general discretion of work. Refer to the contract documents for the full detail and scope. o Provide and install the precast concrete vault. The contractor shall supply the crane, rigging, labor, and all tools required. o Install electrical duct bank from the vault to the building. o With the vault properly in place, the backfilling process can begin. Using project approved backfill material, fill in the void between the vault and the existing ground. o Asphalt: Saw cut and remove the existing asphalt paving in the areas required for the vault installation. o Backfill and compact to 95% compaction. o Install new asphalt matching the thicknesses of the existing paving. All the excavated material, debris, and waste shall be removed from Raw Water Pump Station property and disposal of in an approved landfill.
