Due to the extension of the Shelter in Place there will not be a public bid opening for this project. The bids will be opened by Purchasing and the initiating department. A Preliminary bid result will be posted on the City's website the same day. Vendors who wish to be sent the results should include a business card with their bid. We recommend that if bidders are responding via a delivery service such as US Mail, UPS, FedEx or any way other than personally delivering the bid response that it is done as soon as possible to allow for any delays in the delivery process. For vendors that wish to deliver in person someone will be in the Purchasing Department on the day of the bid opening to accept their bids. You may drop off your bid in the days prior to the bid opening between the hours of 9:00 AM and Noon, Monday through Friday at the Delivery Entrance (see below). Call 510-494- 4622 before delivering. The Project is located at various citywide locations, and consists of the following work: Furnishing and maintaining traffic control; protecting or adjusting utility facilities, removing asphalt concrete roadway surfacing by grinding and excavating; performing hot mix asphalt base repairs; replacing traffic signal detector loops and related facilities; sealing pavement cracks; placing pavement fabric, placing hot mix asphalt overlays, placement of roadside signs; applying traffic stripes, pavement markings, and reflective pavement markers; and other related work. License. This Project requires a valid California contractor's license for the following classification(s): Class A. Contractors bidding as a joint venture must secure a joint venture license prior to award of the Contract for the Project. DIR Registration. City may not accept a Bid Proposal from, or enter into the Contract with, a bidder without proof that the bidder is registered with the California Department of Industrial Relations ("DIR") to perform public work under Labor Code Section 1725.5, subject to limited legal exceptions. The Bid Proposal must be accompanied by bid security of ten percent of the maximum bid amount, in the form of a cashier's or certified check made payable to City, or a bid bond executed by a surety licensed to do business in the State of California on the Bid Bond form included with the Contract Documents. The bid security must guarantee that, upon award of the bid, the successful bidder will execute the Contract and submit the payment and performance bonds, the insurance certificates, and the other documentation required by the Contract Documents, within ten days after City's issuance of the Notice of Award. The successful bidder will be required to provide performance and payment bonds, each for 100% of the Contract Price.
