M-451(206) Roundabout & Outfall at 1st Street & Braasch Avenue - City Of Norfolk Project Overview (Roundabout): The roundabout at 1st and Braasch was developed as part of the Braasch Avenue reconstruction project. During the community stakeholder meetings a roundabout was discussed as a way to control the three way intersection. JEO, the design engineer, gathered traffic data and conducted a traffic study to determine if a roundabout was adequate for the traffic volumes. Information was provided to the public about the feasibility of a roundabout at 1st during the City 1 & 6 year street plan development. This project is included in the city's 2021-2025 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). As of December 28, 2021 a projected bid schedule is unknown; however, construction is slated to begin spring 2022.
