Demolition, site work, paving and outdoor lighting for a mixed-use development in Maplewood, New Jersey. Working plans call for the demolition of a parking garage; for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; water / sewer project; for outdoor lighting for a sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a parking garage.

The work under this Invitation for Bid generally includes, but is not limited to, the demolition of the existing parking deck and design of a paved surface lot which shall take place within the footprint of the existing deck. Surface lot will include, but is not limited to,lighting, drainage, fencing, striping, access control equipment, security cameras, and electric vehicle chargers and bollards. After notification of approval of the Special Prequalification, the prequalified Prospective Bidders will be invited to attend a pre-bid meeting and participate in a questions/answers period. This form is required in order to submit the Special Prequalification, but does not bind a prospective respondent in any way. Failure to timely submit the notice of intent may result in NJ TRANSIT rejecting any Special Prequalification later submitted. This project is subject to the requirements of the Public Works Contractor Registration Act (N.J.S.A. 34:11-56.48 et seq.). Contractors and subcontractors will be required to comply with the State of New Jersey, Division of Revenue, Business Registration Certificate requirements (N.J.S.A. 52:32-44.). Prospective Bidders are required to comply with the requirements of N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq. and N.J.A.C. 17:27, regarding Equal Employment Opportunity Laws and Regulations. NJ TRANSIT will require bidders utilizing Disadvantage Business Enterprise (DBE) subcontractors/vendors/suppliers to comply with all aspects of NJ TRANSIT's DBE Program in the use of DBE's. A twenty-one percent (21%) Race Conscious DBE goal has been set for this project. In accordance with N.J.S.A. 27:25-11(b)(3) and N.J.A.C. 16:72-2.2 Prospective Bidders are notified that a bid bond in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the bid price will be required with their bid. All firms must be Specially Prequalified by NJ TRANSIT prior to submitting a bid for the project referenced above. Contractors must also be prequalified for Heavy Construction Non-Operating Railroad Environment (HC) in a classification of GC General Contractor for an amount of work that is equal to or greater than their bid amount. NJ TRANSIT suggests a minimum rating amount of "Q",$20,000,001 to 25,000,000. In order to prequalify for the anticipated submission of bids for this project, Prospective Bidders must satisfy NJ TRANSIT's Special Prequalification requirements for technical expertise, and verifiable prior direct relevant experience in the role of Prime Contractor.
