Site work, paving and renovation of a civil project in Edmonton, Alberta. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; and for the renovation of a bridge / tunnel.
Stage 2 of the Terwillegar Drive expansion plan is a complex freeway upgrading and bridge rehabilitation/widening project. The Project scope of work includes but is not limited to the following: 1.6.1. interchange ramp widening, potentially new bridge structures and ramps (if funding allows), widening of Whitemud Drive between 122 Street and Fox Drive, transit priority measures (bus-on-shoulder, transit lanes, bus-only signals, etc.), transit stops and active mode upgrades; 1.6.2. possibly significant stormwater management upgrades in phased approach and innovations solutions to accommodate for the increased runoff; 1.6.3. Rainbow Valley bridges rehabilitation and widening; and 1.6.4. several retaining walls below existing bridges in the project area and along the segregated bus lane, which includes replacing existing slope protection as well as associated minor rehabilitation work. The bridges include the Terwillegar Drive Bridges over Whitemud Drive (B192 and B193), the 53 Avenue Bridge over Whitemud Drive (B150) and the Whitemud Drive Bridge over Fox Drive (B103). TIMELINE: Construction started in 2023.
