The project shall consist of removing the existing natural gas emergency generator and replacing it with a new diesel emergency generator. Also included in this project would be minor general and mechanical construction associated with the electrical work. Each bid shall be accompanied by a separate envelope containing a current contractors license and a Bidder's Bond in a sum equal to five percent (5%) of the full amount of the Bid, executed by the Bidder as principal and by a surety company authorized to do business in this State, conditioned that if the Principal's Bid is accepted and the contract awarded to the Principal, the Principal, within ten (10) days after notice of award, shall execute and effect a contract in accordance with the terms of his Bid and a Contractor's Bond as required by law and the regulations and determinations of the governing body. The Bid Bond of the three lowest bidders will be retained until the Contract has been awarded and executed, but not longer than sixty (60) days. The Bid Security is a guarantee that the Bidder will enter into contract for the work described in the proposal. The Bidder must submit a Bid Bond payable to the City of Bismarck, North Dakota. In accordance with Section 43-07-05 of the North Dakota Century Code, each Contractor shall have a North Dakota Contractor's license for the highest amount of their bid with alternates (if applicable), and he must state on his Bid Form the number and class of his license and the date it was obtained or renewed. A Contractor must be the holder of a license at least ten days prior to the date set for receiving bids, to be a qualified bidder. In accordance with Section 43-07-12 of the North Dakota Century Code, a copy of the current license of certificate of renewal thereof issued by the Secretary of State shall be enclosed in the required Bid Bond envelope. A Bid submittal without this information properly enclosed in the Bid Bond envelope shall not be read or considered and shall be returned to the bidder. Any deficient bid submitted will be resealed and returned to the bidder immediately. Your offer will be required to be submitted under a condition of irrevocability for a period of 60 days after submission. The owner has the right to reject any and all bids. The Work under this Contract shall be Substantially Completed by October 17, 2022 and shall achieve Final Completion by October 31, 2022.
