Demolition, site work and renovation of a water / sewer project in Clayton, California. Completed plans call for the demolition of a water / sewer project; for the renovation of a water / sewer project; and for site work for a water / sewer project.
Work includes the rehabilitation of Castenada No. 1 and No. 2 steel reservoirs, the demolition of the Glen redwood reservoir, and roof improvements for Mulholland No. 1 and No.2 steel reservoirs. The work includes demolition and removal of a redwood tank, steel reservoir roofs, and valve vaults; raising the height of steel tank walls; construction of aluminum dome roofs; repair of existing aluminum dome roofs; construction of valve vaults; abrasive blasting, priming, and coating of tank interiors and exteriors; and constructing civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and pipeline improvements at the facilities. The reservoirs are located in San Ramon, Lafayette, and Orinda, respectively, in Contra Costa County, California. Estimated cost of this work is between $15,000,000 and $18,000,000. This project will require multiple trades and types of work; for example (note: this list is not all inclusive): demolition, saw-cutting, concrete coring, hazardous materials handling, grading, excavation, fill, concrete, rebar, waterproofing, roofing, tank construction, industrial coatings, structural steel, bolting, mechanical, electrical, HVAC, pipeline, plumbing, stairs, handrails, guardrails, ladders, gratings and railings, fencing, trucking, hydroseeding, paving, and other required work and trades Bidders/bid walk attendees (Attendees) shall comply with the Contra Costa County health orders, which include but are not limited to, maintaining social distance and wearing a protective face covering. Attendees shall also cover their coughs/sneezes, practice hand washing, and shall not engage in physical contact. Attendees who disregard these health and safety requirements, as well as attendees who feel sick and/or have a cough or fever will not be allowed to attend. No more than two persons per bidder shall attend. This is the only time that the facilities will be open for inspection. The interior of the existing reservoirs will not be open for inspection. Each inspection will last approximately 1 hour. No photography by the Attendees will be allowed. The District will take photographs, as requested by the Attendees, restricted to the work zone. The District will release photographs to Attendees after the bid walk, pending review by the District. All Attendees are required to have a photo ID and sign a confidentiality agreement not to share, sell, or publish photos. Bidders shall have an active Class A license from the Contractors' State License Board at the time of submitting bid. All work covered by the contract shall be completed within one thousand fifty (1050) calendar days after the issuance of the Notice to Proceed. Performance and payment bonds for not less than 100 percent of the contract price are required. All Contractors bidding on a public works project and all Subcontractors of any tier shall be registered with the State Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Section 1725.5 of the Labor Code. As provided in Section 22300 of the Public Contract Code of the State of California, the Contractor may substitute securities for monies withheld by the District to ensure performance of the work.
