Saving Project...

Renovation of an educational facility in Saint Cloud, Minnesota. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

Prequalification Required: Y Thirty-five VAV boxes will be added to the AHU systems serving Area A and B. This will include controls, dampers, and ductwork modifications. Since the AHUs already have VFDs on their supply fan, no additional modifications will be required to make them operate with the additional VAV boxes installed. By adding the VAV boxes we will be able to better control temp and air flow in the spaces making the learning environment more comfortable. A&B wing is comprised of mostly classrooms and laboratories. All main lined supply ductwork serving Area D will be replaced with sheet metal ductwork with exterior insulation. Existing controls, dampers, VAV boxes, reheat coils, and diffusers will be reused. The new ductwork will connect to all existing equipment to make the system operational, although not all equipment in this area will be replaced. The insulation in the ductwork is degrading and shedding. This causes our filters to be plugged putting strain on the HVAC equipment as well as potentially contaminating the air. This serves classrooms and labs in an entire wing of the building.
