A NON-Mandatory Pre-solicitation meeting is scheduled for 4/1/2021 10:00 AM Location: Sanibel Causeway Islands Park 19931 Sanibel Causeway, Fort Myers, FL 33908 Solicitation documents and instructions may be secured from the website: www.leegov.com/procurement or by calling the Procurement Management at (239) 533-8881 DA Permit No: SAJ-2014-03670 (SP-KRD) The Permittee is hereby authorized to conduct work associated with the Sanibel Causeway Island B Shoreline Stabilization Project which is for shoreline stabilization work along the San Carlos Bay shoreline and Pine Island Sound shorelines of Sanibel Causeway Island B. The proposed project includes the construction of short T-head groins that will extend into less than 4 feet (ft) of water depth, a small scale beach nourishment along both shorelines, terminal groins on the ends of the island, and additional stormwater management structures. All proposed work will remain landward of the surveyed submerged aquatic vegetation (SAV or seagrass) beds. The Sanibel Causeway Shoreline Stabilization Project was designed to address all four of Lee County's project goals: 1. Provide erosion control against expected waves, and currents. 2. Increase the amount of recreational access to the shorelines. 3. Avoid impacts to benthic habitats. 4. Overall project cost must fall within the County' budget. The proposed shoreline stabilization activities include SCOPE OF WORK: Lee County Board of County Commissioners seeks to contract with a qualified CONTRACTOR for construction services for the stabilization of the Sanibel Causeway Shoreline Stabilization Island B. The primary purpose of the Sanibel Causeway Shoreline Stabilization Project is to address chronic erosion of the San Carlos Bay and Pine Island Sound shorelines of the Sanibel Causeway Island B. The shoreline stabilization project aims to protect upland infrastructure, and meet recreational needs of the public.
