Cornell University is soliciting this Invitation for Bid (IFB) to identify a supplier(s) to purchase This is for the purchase of two (2), packaged, 480VAC, 3 phase, 60Hz, 800 kilowatt Tier 2 emergency diesel generators with load bank, paralleling gear (for a total of 1,600kW), switch boards, fuel tanks and locking acoustic enclosures. The only acceptable manufacturers are: Caterpillar, Cummins and Kohler. Engines shall be certified to meet 40CFR Part 60 Subpart IIII for new source performance standards. The engines are to use ultra-low sulfur diesel fuel and will be permanently sited outside exposed to the weather in Ithaca, New York, 14853. Bidders shall provide a written list, by section and paragraph, of any exceptions taken to the technical specifications for the engine generators and switchboards. If the successful bidder provides equipment that does not meet the specifications and the exceptions are not approved in writing by Cornell University prior to purchase, the bidder will be considered in breach of the terms and conditions of the purchase order and shall be subject to the consequences as stated in the purchase order terms and conditions. Each bidder shall provide a firm date for delivery of no later than August 31, 2021 for all purchased equipment, freight-on-board to the Cornell Campus, assuming a purchase decision by Cornell University no later than one calendar month after bids are due.
