Multi-million dollar program of requalification of the old Lagacé quarry, a four-million square feet site that is currently used as a snow depot and located in Laval downtown. The program provides for the construction of an innovation zone of international level including research centers, offices, commercial buildings and tourist attractions. The City has acquired the site for construction of the project and included an amount of approximately $9 million for rehabilitation, enhancement and development into its three-year capital expenditure program 2024-2026. Based on the results of the economic feasibility study prepared by the firm Innovitech and a master plan prepared by the firm Provencher_Roy + Associés the owner has reached an agreement with Angus Development Corporation (ADC) for the implementation of the first construction phase providing for the construction of 1,000 housing units, including 500 affordable ones, as well as the creation of an innovation center. Timelines of the project development are being finalized.
