Site work for a road / highway in Walnut Creek, California. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway.

The Project includes, but is not limited to, performing the following Work: Remove concrete piers and wooden wall as shown on the plans Cut and cap the existing irrigation lines Construct concrete grade beam and piers for the masonry wall Construct steel-framed wood door Construct masonry concrete block wall Temporary wood and chain link fences Tree protection Tree stump removal Construction area signs This Project is on the following streets in the City of Walnut Creek: This project is located along the east side of the South Broadway roadway between approximately Andrea Drive and northern end of Bishop Lane in the City of Walnut Creek. All access to the project will be from South Broadway. The Contractor shall begin Work no later than five Working days after the beginning date specified in the Notice to Proceed (which may be hand delivered or sent by email). The Contractor shall complete all the Work on the Project within 60 working days after the beginning date specified in the Notice to Proceed. In accordance with the Labor Code Sections 1771 and 1773.2, the City Council of the City of Walnut Creek has ascertained the general prevailing rate of wages applicable to this Work. hese rates are on file in the Public Services Department. No contractor or subcontractor shall be qualified to bid on, or be listed in a bid proposal unless currently registered to perform public work pursuant to Section 1725.5. No bids will be accepted from a Contractor who has not been licensed in accordance with Business and Professions Code Section 7000 and following. The minimum license requirement for this project is Class "A", General Engineering Contractor, Class "B", Building Contractor, or Class "C-29", Masonry Contractor. The contractor must submit the masonry block samples within ten (10) working days after Notice of Award. All insurance documents required in Special Provision 2 of these project specifications shall be submitted to the Engineer within ten (10) working days after notification to the bidder selected. If the bidder fails to provide the required documents satisfactory to the Engineer within the time frame specified, the second selected bidder shall be notified. Contractor's attention is directed to the City's insurance requirements as stated in Section 2 of the special provisions of these specifications. Contractor shall verify with his insurance agent all costs associated with obtaining the necessary insurance coverage and include such costs in the bid item for Mobilization. If there is a conflict between contract documents, and to the extent such documents are referenced or included in the Contract, the Notice to Contractors shall take precedence to any other contract documents included. All bids shall be accompanied by cash, a bid bond, a cashier's check or certified check payable to the City of Walnut Creek in an amount equal to 10% of the total amount bid. Upon award of the contract, the successful Bidder shall furnish a bond for faithful performance in the amount of 100% of the total bid; the successful Bidder shall also furnish a bond to secure the payment of all claims for labor and material in the amount of 100% of the total bid. The successful Bidder and subcontractors are required to pay for and obtain a City of Walnut Creek Business License. Retention: The Contractor may elect to receive 100% of payments due under the contract from time to time, without retention of any portion of the payment by the public agency, by depositing securities of equivalent value with the City or an escrow agent in accordance with Public Contract Code Section 22300. Such securities, if deposited by the Contractor, shall be valued by the City's Administrative Services Director whose decision on valuation of the securities shall be final. The Contractor's attention is called to the Business and Professions Code Section 7108.5, which generally requires subcontractors to be paid not later than seven days after receipt of each progress payment. The selected bidder and subcontractors must substantiate that they are currently registered with the Department of Industrial Relations within a reasonable time. The City of Walnut Creek reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any informality in the bids. WORK ORDER 9958
